Have you heard of pundles? These are puzzles like this old chestnut:

board
(psssst: "Man Overboard!" But you knew that already.)
These can get rather clever. Here are a few of my favorites:
1. WwOoOlLf
2. H2O + NaCl, H2O + NaCl

one foot in the grave.
the other two i know already so will not mention in case some someone is peeking in the comments for answers...
Okay I already knew number two so I won't answer it and leave it for someone else - it's one of my favs. I used to write in on the board at Legal Services and giggle to myself.
1) a wolf in sheep's clothing (wolf in wool, nudge nudge)
3) one foot in the grave
Wolf in sheep's clothing.
One foot in the grave.
The chemistry one, I have to wait 'til Rene wakes up to try to answer.
Howzit going Fiona? I LOVE your blog, by the way! (Cartoons, stories, etc.!) _Michelle Lavallee
The wolf one is easy... It's Virgina Woolf (because all the "o's" are un-perforated.)
Okay, I have finished the solution to the burning ropes problem.
Form one rope into a circle. At the samemoment light the end of the second rope and anywhere along the circumference of the first rope.
When the two two flames moving along the circumference of the first rope meet (which will be at the 30 minute point), take the unlit end of the second rope and touch it to the burning end of the same rope.
Now the second rope, with 30 minutes of lammable life left in it, is burning from both ends. The flames will meet in 15 minutes...
...making 45 minutes from when the first match was stuck.
Ta Daaa!
How'd I do?
ooh good one, JC. had to think about it for a bit: capitalISM. :-)
