Dang, this one took me a long time to figure out. For a long time I was trying to decypher some text massage you could make on your phone with this sequence. (I thought that was the trick.)

Then I thought each digit represented the number of letters in words that have a specific sequence, like the months of the year, but that didn't pan out either.

As usual, the answer is very easy once you know what you are looking for. Nice puzzle. I don't want to spoil this puzzle for others, so I'm not going to post the answer, but I think I've given some good hints.
